Your hosts are new to Ogden Valley. Pat and Sherrie Dohrer were both raised in Wichita, Kansas. They have been married for almost 25 years, have four children Amanda, Tyson, Samantha and Kaitlyn, and one beautiful grandchild, Caroline.
Leaving Kansas was a leap of faith to follow their dream of operating a Bed & Breakfast and living in the mountains. Pat’s brother and sister-in-law have lived in the Valley for nearly fifteen years, which explains how these two kids from Kansas ended up in Utah. In December of 2004 they were making their annual Christmas visit and found the Snowberry Inn and decided that with their own children almost out of the house it was time to pursue that dream. As they say be careful what you wish for, because it may come true. That it did!
Pat and Sherrie’s expertise greatly compliment operating an inn. Pat was a senior manager at Star Lumber in Wichita, a building material supplier ranked nationally in sales. Pat has held many positions over his twenty-six years of employment at Star from Director of Marketing to Director of Contractor & Commercial sales. Pat has also held a contractor’s license and has all the skills needed to maintain the Snowberry at its very best.
Sherrie was a self-employed cosmetologist until her children were all in school, at which time she went back to school herself. Graduating with honors, she attained her degree in education with a concentration on Family and Consumer Science. This explains why decorating, planning, cooking and entertaining are not work for her; it’s a passion that is now her job. And to hear Pat tell it, she is one of the best cooks around.
Sherrie and Pat have something in common … their enjoyment of meeting new people and providing a family atmosphere at the Snowberry Inn to friends that they just haven’t met yet. They look forward to meeting you!
